In this tour, we will do barhopping to taste three of Japanese “B-Rated Gourmet” dishes― Okonomiyaki, yakitori, and oden.
1.Okonomiyaki
Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake with various ingredients, mainly meat and seafood, covered with special sauce.
This is a specialty of Osaka and Hiroshima, but putting sweet red kidney beans on it is unique to Tokushima! Try it!
If you would like to make it by yourself, it would be a nice and special experience for you, but you can ask shop staff to cook and serve it for you as well.
2.Oden
Oden is one of the typical Japanese family dishes (especially in wintertime).
Various kinds of ingredients, such as vegetables, eggs, fishcakes, deep-fried tofu, sinewy meat and so on, are simmered in a dashi and soy sauce based broth.
Especially, my recommendations are daikon radish and eggs which get soft and soaked with dashi and taste so good!
3.Yakitori
Yakitori is grilled skewered chicken, and typical Japanese food (mostly, “salarymen”) ordered at Izakaya with beer or some alcohol after work.
The good thing about yakitori is you can enjoy various kinds of chicken meat whose taste differs from part to part, and one skewer is reasonably priced.
This tour will broaden your knowledge and experience of Japanese food with inexpensive but so tasty “B-Rated Gourmet” loved and eaten daily by Japanese.
Also, the walk on Tokushima streets will give you some interesting cultural or historical information of Japan!
Yuuki, the guide will show and explain some interesting spots to see in the center of Tokushima City.
